A Spirit Sword is a type of spiritual tool from The Daily Life of the Immortal King series.
Summary[]
Weapons are developed by cultivators, for the most varied uses ( Offensive means; transport or labor). Depending on the quality of the objects used at the time of forging, the sword can be very powerful, and when used by the user, cultivation will naturally nourish the sword, which can make the weapon generate a spirit.
The forms presented by the spirits when reaching this stage are all embodied according to the owner's wishes. Once created the spirit tends to be loyal to its nurturer and had acquired awareness and discernment, being able to understand his master's orders and perform all kinds of actions, as if he were a normal person. However, only users with refined control of spirit energy can make their spirit sword speak, although all spirits, even mute ones, can make sounds, such as laughter or cry.
Spirits have their own store of spiritual energy, once depleted it can regenerate on its own, although it is not instantaneous. His wielder can feed it their own spirit energy, or the spirit can absorb energy through other means to recharge faster. Even if they don't need the spirit can also eat food normally, despite that though unhealthy foods can actually harm him.
Special Cares[]
Maintenance:
Since swords are used constantly for batles or transport they end up needing special care, and systematic maintenance is highly recommended. Spirit swords used in combat are more likely to be damaged than those used solely for transport. Weakened combat swords end up doing much less damage than they normally would, sometimes being on par with a dull normal sword.
Spirit swords used for transportation that are not properly maintained can end up weakening and in turn causing the speed that the sword can achieve to be greatly impaired.
Awakened Mode: Once a spirit sword reaches awakened mode it will be rebellious against the wielder, and may cause difficulties if he is in an emergency situation that needs to use his sword.
Recharge: The spirit will consume a lot of psionic energy when manifested in the state of spirit form (however, this doesn't seem to happen with Jingke and White Sheath). Once the sword runs out of energy His spirit will enter a state similar to hibernation, and will no longer respond to the wielder's calls until it has enough spiritual energy to manifest again.
Spiritual Influence: Spiritual swords can resonate with talismans and seals, weakening them or even causing them to explode. This can be seen when Wang Ling's sealing was affected by Jingke presence.
