Wang Ling (王令) is the titular protagonist of The Daily Life of the Immortal King.
Summary[]
Wang Ling is the reincarnation of an ancient immortal king with invincible existence and immeasurable powers far beyond his control, but now that he's sixteen he faces his greatest battle yet... the High School. His birthday is December 26, 4395 (Source from chapter 880 of the novel).
The things that Wang Ling ever truly deems as Dangerous is Eternity, Outer Gods, and the Will of the Universe.

The whole story of the novel aka Wang Ling story is literally about Wang Ling facing Gods, Buddhas and higher-realm cultivators and show to them what a real/true God is since everyone who thinks themselves as a God or a Supreme God in their own universe or even the entire multiverse were humbled and even killed or lost badly and almost died in the hands of Wang Ling as they realize they are not the pinnacle of existence since there's even beings that's even above Gods & Supreme Gods. So, if someone deems Wang Ling divinity is weak (fodder) and can be stripped easily just like an insect or ant then that's the same as downplaying everything including the entire cultivation realms, cosmology of the multiverse, laws of the multiverse, and various other power systems of the universe. Wang Ling existence isn't just Gods beyond Gods and his race is not a human anymore nor a God, even his supposed to be Supreme God is mainly just a wording as the Supreme God of the verse is Wang Daozu, Wang Ling is the entity that surpass that by an immeasurable amount the only True Creator of the Multiverse is Will of the Universe which is possibly Wang Ling real body/true form or at least avatar or Wang Ling was born or created by it, same as Saitama who is just a normal human but breaks all of his limiters and become Godlike beings that has reactive evolution that can even grow into the level of multi-galaxy (currently) and even possibly up to universal or low multiversal (In the future) of his story. He is beyond a mere Super-dimensional Gods, Extradimensional Gods, Higher-Dimensional Gods, Creator Gods, Supreme God, Ex-Supreme God/Supreme Angel beings, Regular Gods and Demi-Gods as he is known as Fairy King/Spirit King or Immortal Spiritual Master but nobody ever knows his true identity or true form even Wang Ling himself don't know who he is and other character also acknowledges that Wang Ling is too strong for a mere Wang Daozu reincarnation who's supposed to be the Supreme God of the Universe (Multiverse).
In the novel, he literally possess 90+ sealing talisman that's disposed whenever dozens, or score (20) of his seals is broken due to his powers growth that even the talisman can't keep up controlling no matter how many times it is upgraded or how many black stones element that's supposedly to limits Wang Ling power is put. His Immeasurable growth made his own realms/powers & existence growing even amidst battle.
Unlike a certain Immeasurable being from a certain other novel that can instant-kill his opponents that possess 3 seals only but most stated it owning more than 68+ seals, Wang Ling has more valid number and even surpass such claims of 68+ seals. It is not backup seals that is on his pants, spiritual space or other space but literally his own sealing talismans on his body.

Please remember that the worlds (Planets) in Daily Life of Immortal King verse isn't a weak ordinary planet but a planet filled with Immense Spiritual Energy, countless Spiritual Veins and each of the planets has their own Will or Spirits which means each of the Worlds or Planets is at least a 4-Dimensional entity and they all can be temporarily strengthened by Wang Ling in order to withstand his powers when he is fighting above the current world he is on. So, Wang Ling never lose but instead just give chance for his opponents to survive or hold on more than a single attack of his Wang Ling (Which usually is just mere slaps, which his slaps even has various forms of slaps just like the various punch types of Saitama from One Punch Man).
Also, Wang Ling realm, existence, strength, speed, IQ/Intelligence, battle IQ, power grows as the novel goes/progresses and he already reached an immeasurable realm, that's why the previous feats which states he uses 50% strength or tore half of his seal is unreliable or out of date as Wang Ling already immeasurably beyond his previous capabilities.
Even if Wang Ling tore his own seal or his sealing talisman got torn by his enemies, he still only use 1500 Dao at the very least and not more than 3000 Daos at the very most since nobody has even survived or win against Wang Ling with 1500-3000 Daos only, so Wang Ling never used his 30.000 Dao so even if his seal is unsealed he never used his true form/true power/true state but only more like a "Trial Version" of his True Power/True Form/True state.

Wang Ling is a young man with short black hair and red eyes, he is usually seen wearing the standard 60TH High uniform.
In his pre-reincarnation appearance, when he was an immortal emperor, he looked like a young man with long white hair tied in a bun and owns a long ponytail, he also wore a traditional ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu).
Personality[]
Wang Ling is a closed person and often expressionless, his reactions are usually indifferent and even when he is genuinely happy he doesn't show great euphoria. He is usually calm and quiet and doesn't like to draw attention to himself, despite this shell of aloofness in reality, Ling is good-hearted, being selfless and very understanding with others.
Wang Ling doesn't underestimate his opponents, he even almost always praises his opponents even if their realms and existence (Dimensionality) are immeasurably beneath him. He usually praises lower-realm opponents usually he will praises his opponents if they are an Ancestor or part of Ancestor Realms which is the highest/supreme cultivation tier of the verse, but if it's below Ancestor he doesn't underestimate but not praise them anymore in the latest novel because he already faced a lot of stronger foes in the Ancestor realms that's why he felt that it is unnecessary to overpraise the lower-realms except the Masters/Extraordinary Cultivators/Genius Cultivators on the Ancestors Realms above.
Wang Ling in the novel isn't truly ruthless or evil to his enemies, it's just because his sealing talisman that renders sealing his emotions into becoming emotionless. He did killed lots of enemies but only the truly evil ones or the ones that sold their lives or pledge allegiance into the evil sides (Such as Eternal Immortals that's controlled/manipulated by the Outer Gods by their own will), beat up and nearly killed countless enemies but he did all of this in order to achieve his wish which is World Peace and not just a simple Earth Planet Peace but the entire universe (Multiverse) peace because if the universe (Multiverse) isn't at peace, he'll never have a calm, slow-living and peaceful life in Earth due to the constant challanges, attack, battle, conspiracies, from various factions in the entire universe (Multiverse).
Wang Ling knows that relying on the Orderers (Guardian of Universes or Multiverse) is useless because they can't overstep their boundaries of reach because there's rules for them that is set by the Heaven of the Dao (Tiando Comittee) if the case is coming from entities outside of the way of the heaven then they aren't allowed to take the matters into their own hands aka it's not part of their jurisdiction.
Wang Ling isn't interested in winning or losing, being stronger or being weaker because all he wants is the peace of the world and the universes/multiverse as well as Crispy Noodles and be with Sun Rong. He did said it to Chen Nan Xuan (That's possessed by Evil Sword God) before extinguishing him from existence (The Evil Sword God is the Eye Shadow of Chen Nanxuan) so Chen Nan Xuan is alive but the Evil Sword God entity is removed from existence.
Ling's core values, according to the light novel are peace, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship, so he doesn’t care about things he finds trivial like money, fame and cultivation treasures.
He has an intensive passion for crispy noodles and whenever he hears of a promotion or special edition somewhere, he gets really into it, unlike most things. He can even get bribed by somebody with the noodles.
Story[]
In ancient times, he was a mighty immortal emperor, being many times called "The King" in Lurking. Being a peaceful god obsessed with a peaceful life, believing things could be less hectic in the future, he decided to reincarnate for it.
He was then born on December 26, 4380, according to the cultivation calendar, in a country called Huaxiu, and in an era when cultivation and technology went hand in hand, the art of cultivation is now no longer restricted to monks, but available for almost all professions and means of communication, transportation, and etc.
After several incidents at home, Wang Ling's father crafted a sealing-style fulu talisman to suppress his son's immense power, which consequently also suppressed his emotions.
In 4386, during the night he went to buy crispy noodles, he was interrupted by a giant frog on his way home, where he defeated him easily with a kick. It turned out that the frog was the Demon King Tuntian Ha. After that, he manipulated Zhuo Yi's mind to think that he was the one who defeated the demon king.
In 4396, during 60TH High's spirit power test he met Tuntian Ha again, and before Wang Ling got to hit him with a boost, Tuntian Ha decided to destroy the rest of his spirit that was left and killed himself in order not to be humiliated again. This caused Wang Ling's test result to be null and made him enter the elite class. A little later, Ling summoned The Giant Frog unintentionally, using the spirit inducing talisman, to everyone's complete surprise. Tuntian Ha (now in a dog form) ended up becoming something of a mascot for the class.
Later, Ling visited Heavenly Paradise with Sun Rong for their first date, there, he did not only have a lot of fun with Rong, but also kept her from two mysterious individuals who attempted to assassinate her.
The 60TH High was preparing for the spiritual sword competition, which was originally going to take place there, but thanks to the Shadow Faction's attacks it was relocated to 59TH High. Using the scoreboard of the spiritual power tests, Wang Ling's friends, including himself, were chosen to represent the school. A day before the trip to 59TH High, Teacher Wang asked everyone to get their swords, in which Ling had to get one, so he ended up taking Jingke who was in storage for 10 years. But Jingke's incredible power interfered with Ling's seal, which began to break. During the trip, Jingke tried to warn him but couldn’t. When the team arrived at 59TH High, his seal has broken yet again and a large amount of energy is released. Ling took advantage of this to pretend to be injured so he didn't have to compete. Using the flash trick he teleports away from the medical area and starts wandering around the school, where he called his father so as to get himself a new seal as soon as possible, only to gather the others again.
He saw that Jiang Liuying had killed Sun Rong and that he had not arrived in time, an explosion of his emotions were the last straw to broke the talisman, and all his emotions come back in a rumble, making him unstable and unable to control his power well, making him use his dangerous destructive energy. He tries to bring Sun Rong back and whilst doing so creates a second world, where he tries to experience emotions and normalcy in this second world, even though he is unable to bring back Sun Rong, once her soul was detached from her body, and it was not intact.
When Sun Rong’s soul arrived at the gates of the underworld, The Yama noticed that Sun Rong is the descendant of the legendary Monkey King, so he immediately sent her back. Yama prioritised the safety of the three worlds (Heaven, Mortal World and Underworld) before Wang Ling recreated everything. Sun Rong's soul returned to save Wang Ling from his rage and brought him back to consciousness. Wang Ling then reverted time to end the side effects, which resulted in Sun Rong having no recollection of the events that transpired between her and Wang Ling. After that, his father appears and puts a new sealing on him. With Jiang Liuying knocked out, his presence is seen by Zhuo Yi, who cancelled the competition following an order from the cultivation department.
In the second semester of 4396, Wang Ling, along with all the students of 60TH High, took a second test of spiritual power, once the news that the elite class would have done very well against 59TH High during the annual spirit sword competition reached the ears in the education department of Huaxiu. Thanks to his limitless level, the machine testing the students ended up being overloaded, but he allowed Sun Rong to use Jingke to cut the machine's power cord to stop it, but in the process Sun Rong, carrying Jingke, ended up not only cutting the cable but also splitting the Songhai River and opening the highest clouds in the sky. This incident became known as a Doom Breaking System Malfunction.
After discovering that Sun Rong would forcefully make a blood-signed agreement with Tang Jingze after the Sun family went bankrupt, they rush to the Sun family's waterfall to try to stop it. Wang Ling takes the lead and tries to stop the event, only to be scolded by Sun Rong who has now accepted her sad fate of being forced to do it for the good of the Sun family. However, when Tang Jingze was about to end the agreement, the water falls again and the seven-star squad arrives, notifying the Tang family to give immediate explanations for use demons to quell the spirit energy of the Sun family's waterfall. Sun Rong gets very happy, especially seeing Wang Ling be so committed and care so much for her.
He was a spectator during the spiritual sword arts conference. However, the show was sabotaged by Richman, who used the spectators' spiritual energy to set up a world-class control technique, but Wang Ling detected it and channeled the technique matrix just in time, and threw it 2 meters to the side, where Sun Rong ended up being placed as an array, which made her accidentally put practically all the people on the planet under the effect of her control technique. Wang Ling and Sun Rong then head to Fort Skyloop to broadcast Sun Rong's rejection live to everyone, as this was all it took to break the control technique. Although she manages to break the technique, they are trapped in a three-dimensional sealing, made by Demon Master, where she realizes through the window of Fort Skyloop that the Earth was being invaded by demons. Wang Ling manages to break the seal and heads for Earth. But before Ling could do anything Lin Xiaoyu appears beside him and opens a hyperspace gate, she tells him that she is being forced to take him to the Demon World because her Sword Sister was a hostage and she couldn't let her sister be mistreated anymore by the demons.

We could say Chaos is a High-Immeasurable Monad while WIll of the Universe is the True Boundless Monad so although they look like equal at a glance, they are both different too. Wang Ling cannot be erased by a mere existence erasure (Gods, Alien Saiyans, Destruction Gods, Death Gods, Supreme Gods, etc), or even an absolute/greater existence erasure done by a beyond-dimensional being (Chaos) which is why he is literally immune to any forms, types, kinds of existence erasure and this immunity cannot be lifted off, erased, sealed, bypassed, etc as it is both a passive and active skill of Wang Ling and the main reason why Wang Ling has this immunity is because he is the personification of Will of the Universe itself, not just a mere proxy avatar or proxy agent like other character from other fictional works that can cut the "death" of other beings to instant-kill them or the character that can rewrite the plot of other characters and is one-step away from becoming The Creator, Wang Ling is literally The True Creator just in human body and humble unlike those show-off characters that wants to be the best and known by everyone.

Wang Ling doesn't get erased or wiped out or given mark of the Universal Punishment by the Will of the Universe (A self-defense mechanism of the universe) which will Existence Erasure All entities especially an entire race that has become too strong or overpowered and too dominating. Such as the Ancient Universe Primordials/True Dragons Races which were wiped out oof existence (erased from existene) by the self-defense mechanism of the Will of the Universe. Why does Wang Ling get this Greater Existence Erasure resitance/immunity? Wang Ling is stated by Wang Ying to be the Will of the Universe itself although not directly but more like indirectly (hinting/teasing). He is also stated by Wang Ying that he has the exact same authority of Will of the Universe to do the Cosmic Punishment Mark which will absolutely erase everything, all entities, beings, spirits, whatever they are throughout the verse. Wang Ling never used this authority so far but this shows that Wang Ling attack power via hax is no less than mere 4-D or 5-D or anything below High-Immeasurable D (Highball), Immeasurable-D (Midball), Infinite-D (Lowball) as he can literally use the Will of the Universe itself or rather himself as he is the personification or the avatar of Will of the Universe itself not just the Chosen One. Wang Ling Spirit of the Universe powers is from the Center of the Universe which is connected to the Will of the Universe itself therefore it explains how immeasurable it's power is compared to Wang Tong. But there's possibilities Wang Tong (Wang Ling Eyes that surpass all kinds of Heavenly Eyes, Demonic Eyes, Evil Eyes, etc) and Spirit of the Universe is the same entity.
Limited True Omnipotence/High-Level Omnipotence/Semi-Absolute/Semi-True Omnipotence: Rather than just gag, parody or joke characters...characters or users on this level are literally those that transcends such "gag, parody and joke" characters. They are beyond the notion of "Limitless, Universal, Multiversal or Complex Multiversal level of Omnipotence", They aren't bound by cause & effect of the universe anymore, nor other kinds of concepts and meta-concepts of the universe (Multiverse) anymore. They are stronger than 99%-99.99% of the strongest Omnipotent and Nigh-Omnipotent entities that exists in the verse. The only thing they lack is Absolute Transcendence as they only posses an incomplete or almost complete version of it but never reached or perfected it fully yet. Only one entity has ever reached this kinds of Limited True Omnipotence-level, which is none other than Wang Ling.
The characters or users that belongs to this type or level of Omnipotence (Limited True Omnipotence) must be stated or do the feats or mix of both as being Unfathomable, Immeasurable. If there's only one criteria met then they will fall into Mid-Omnipotence or even False-Omnipotence unless they are shown to be a Meta-Omnipotent/Meta concept-Omnipotence entities that can be varied in power and state of existence. Jingke is also the being that Ling interacts with the most. Wang Ling deems Jing ke as his son since whenever Wang Ling sees Jing ke injured in any ways he felt like he's a father that sees his son being attacked or injured.
Wang Ling relationship with his shadow isn't good but also isn't bad. It is similar to his relationship or feelings towards Chaos Will of the Universe which is a like/respect-hate/disrespect relationship. Since Wang Ying wants to replace him and become the real Wang Ling aka erasing Wang Ling by forcefully posses his body or take over his body and become the new and true Wang Ling, Wang Ling often felt annoyed because of this and also the distant and complete opposite personality of Wang Ying which is ruthless caused Wang Ling to felt surprised/amazed but also annoyed/uncomfortable by it. Wang Ling deems Bai Zhe as an invincible cockroach since he somehow always comes back to fight him again even if Wang Ling has surely killed him. Although Wang Ling never really met the Will of the Universe directly, he has heard many rumours and theories regarding about it's existence. And he even encountered it's manifestations many times in the form of Miracles of the Universes which used by his enemies. Since Chaos Will of the Universe is like the evil-side/dark-side of Will of the Universe that creates Chaos-based entities, weapons/tools/artifacts/items, worlds/universes/multiverse, it is in a gray-zone of whether gaining Wang Ling tolerance and also disdain or hatred. A complicated relationship that Wang Ling acts ignorant to Chaos Will of the Universe and looks more like underestimating Chaos Will of the Universe rather than respecting it like Will of the Universe.
Wang Daozu
Wang Ling deems Wang Daozu as the rightful Supreme God/Creator God of the Universe (Multiverse), because he is strong and also the creator of way of heaven. Even though Wang Daozu already lost to him, Wang Ling still respects him and treats him as a dependable ally as much as Monk Jindeng. In spite of the Immeasurable Realm difference between him and Wang Daozu that has Immeasurably lower realm than Wang Ling, Wang Ling still treats Wang Daozu kindly and like Monk Jindeng, Wang Ling sometimes helps him either directly or indirectly by himself or through one of his summons/creations.
Wang Ling sees Monk Jindeng as a reliable ally, since Monk Jindeng is the most holy Buddhist Monk in the entire universe (Multiverse). The reason Wang Ling highly respects Monk Jindeng as much as Wang Daozu is due to Monk Jindeng capabilities that can even control the Buddha flames of past, present and future which is one of the most powerful technique that Wang Ling ever see. Wang Ling even gave him Soul Calming Ring which enables Monk Jindeng soul to be at ease since it will grants him (Monk Jindeng) resurection once he died.
Guo Hao[]
After Ling seemingly ‘sacrificed’ himself for him, Guo Hao has since stayed close to him, always talking together and asking him out. Since he supposes Ling is the weakest student of 60TH High, he ends up being protective of him.
Chen Chao[]
Like Guo Hao, Chen Chao considers Ling the weakest student of 60TH High and thus usually wants to protect him.
Tuntian Ha[]
Despite being a Demon King, Ling didn't consider him as a real threat, which shows why he didn't try to kill him during their first encounter. After he became a dog, Ling started to treat him like a pet, yet Ling didn't seem to have much affection for him or interest since he tends to treat him dryly, even comparing to spirit beasts like Silvie. After Tuntian Ha steals Monkey King’s Golden Staff and tries to take over Sunland, Ling forgives him and lets him remain his pet.
Lin Xiaoyu[]
They quickly became friends, with him getting material for him and his friends to forge a spirit sword for her. Even though she technically betrayed him by sending him to the Demon World, he wasn't mad at her since he understood why she did it. He helped prepare her birthday party.
Zhuo Yi[]
Seeing his efforts on the day of the first demonic invasion, Ling entrusts him to receive his credit. He regards Zhuo Yi as a good and trustworthy person. After the truth was revealed, Ling asked if he wanted his or everyone's memory erased, demonstrating that he cares enough for him.
Jiang Liuying[]
Since the day she had managed to kill Sun Rong, he has been more cautious with her; and despite knowing her goals, he doesn't really try to finish her off.
Sheep[]
Being an object that Ling brought to life, he seems to care enough about her, even taking her for a walk sometimes. He still lets her go for maintenance on a regular basis.
White Sheath[]
Since the day he bought Jingke, Ling felt that there was still something missing. When he finally found her, he quickly put her back on Jingke, and now she's a part of Ling's main arsenal.
Tang Jingze[]
Despite Tang Jingze’s attempts to win over Sun Rong, Ling didn’t appear to despise him. However, after figuring out that Rong was forced to make a blood-signed agreement with Tang Jingze. He immediately headed to stop her from doing it, showing that he wouldn’t let anyone take her away from him again, even Jingze.
Yoshiko Kyuumiya[]
Being considered the weakest student in the elite class, Yoshiko didn't pay attention to Ling; but after noticing that he was the closest person to Sun Rong, she tried to win him over with her culinary expertise in a competition in order to crush Rong and failed. During the events of the Kyuumiya Volcano she ignored Ling, who believed she stole Monkey King’s staff several times at his requests for returning it at first (in fact, though, it was Tuntian Ha impersonating her and took the staff.), however, thanks to Yoshiko’s exotic personality of hating anyone who opposes her, she decided to summon several demons, even though she thought he was weak, showing that she had no empathy for him.
